2009 Homecoming show attracts 135
The rain that fell on the area days before Oct. 10 certainly caused for concern for the annual Homecoming Car Show at Campbellsville University.
Though the grass was too wet to park vehicles on and the weather was far from perfect, the rain did stop. And the vehicles came. By the time it was all said and done, there were 120 cars and trucks registered for the show and 15 motorcycles. That put the total at 135, one more than for 2008.
Best of Show went to a 1955 Chevrolet Belair owned by Shelby Burns of Thompson Station, Tenn.
Best Alumni Award went to a 1957 Chevrolet Belair owned by Carole Smith Coleman of Taylorsville. She is a 1966 graduate of Campbellsville College, now Campbellsville University.
A 1933 Ford pickup owned by Dale Willis of Campbellsville received the Participants' Choice Award.
