Homecoming 2008

2008 show attracted 134 entries

The weather was perfect on Oct. 4, 2008 for the largest Homecoming Car Show at the time on the campus of Campbellsville University
They came from near and far, and by the time registration closed there were 124 cars and trucks and 10 motorcycles entered in the show. Winners went home with a 1/25 scale custom diecast 1969 Dodge Charger R/T. This was the third in a series of diecast cars presented as awards for the annual show.
Best of Show went to Bud Newton of Elizabethtown, Ky. and his 1940 Ford pickup. He received the coveted President's Award.
Marvin Wells of Danville, Ky. received the Alumni Award with his 1967 Pontiac LeMans.
Participants' Choice went to Wayne Phillips and his 1948 Chevrolet Coupe.
The theme of the 2008 Homecoming was Back to the Future. Many of the floats and other entries in the parade featured characters from the movie of the same name.
Of special interest at the car show was a 1981 DeLorean owned by Randy Herron of Campbellsville, Ky. The car proved to be a crowd favorite.
